Picking up the paperbacks from Morris Publishing!

Thank you to Morris Publishing in Kearney, Nebraska! You did a great job, they look phenomenal.

It was a very cold road trip but picking up those two boxes of freshly printed paperbacks was just as exhilarating as you would think. Kind of a once in a lifetime sort of thrill.

I went with the matte cover and really, really love how they turned out.

The Heartless Ranch Is Haunted is about generations of family, both current and past, and about mothers, daughters, sisters and friends. Having my husband and daughters there with me was the best.

As we were leaving the Morris Publishing parking lot and stopped at the stop sign before turning onto the highway, one of the cars that inspired the novel went by and on ahead of me as I turned onto the road. I felt it to be a very good sign. I used to live in Kearney and these cars are relatively common there but it still felt very auspicious.

I had driven by Morris Publishing in Kearney through the years and knew that several local authors had worked with them. When the time came to get some paperback copies on hand I was super excited to go back to Kearney.

I was very pleasantly surprised by their range of options and their straight forward online interface. They also deliver personable customer service on the phone and in person. Overall, a great experience and an excellent product. I think they are very well set up to work with authors in every generation and every level of tech expectations. I am particularly excited about their range of products, including graphic novel options, and I look forward to working with them again.

I wanted to visit Kearney so I picked up my books but of course they do ship books out.

I found it easy to use their online interface to get some quote estimates and that helped me start planning right away and then move my project forward.
